As VRI is run by volunteers, we are currently able to guarantee that your whole donation will be sent to India without deductions. No deductions will be made for VRI running costs.

Here is a list of ways in which you can help VRI to make a difference in rural India:

Give online

You can make a credit card or CAF account donation online via the Charities Aid Foundation e-fundraising website
Just click on the link, check that the charity displayed is "Volunteers for Rural India" (or our old name "Indian Volunteers for Community Service"), then click on the "Donate" link.

Regular giving to the Rural Development Fund

You can help VRI to provide long term support to our partner project in rural India by making a regular payment. Giving regularly helps us and our partner project to plan ahead and make sure money is spent where it is most needed rather than on an ad hoc basis. It’s very easy to set up regular gift to the Rural Development Fund. find out more about the Rural Development Fund

Children's Scholarship Fund

This is an opportunity for you to provide regular support to children attending the project's primary and secondary schools. The money raised is used to help the schools in a variety of ways, including support to children of families who can’t afford the very modest fees.

All you need to do to support the Children’s Scholarship Fund is set up a regular payment direct from your salary or by standing order. To find out more about how the fund and how you can support it click here.

Health Care Fund

The VRI Health Care Fund was set up in 2006 to raise funds for a permanent clinic, annual eye camps for cataract care, and other health checks. To donate to this fund, please send a cheque payable to VRI (Health Care).

Become a member

Why not join VRI? As a member you will have an opportunity to visit our partner project in India through the Experience Rural India scheme. You will receive a regular newsletter updating you on news from Amarpurkashi and how your money is being spent. You will also be invited to members meetings in the UK where you can meet other members, hear first hand about VRI work, and help us with fundraising and other activities in the UK. Make a donation now

If you would like to make a donation to support the charity’s work in India any amount will be appreciated. Please send a cheque or money order payable to VRI to 12 Eastleigh Avenue, South Harrow, HA2 0UF, United Kingdom If you are a UK tax payer don’t forget to send a Gift Aid declaration with your donation. Gift Aid

Gift Aid allows you to increase the value of your donations to any charity by nearly 30%. A £10 donation is worth £12.80 to VRI at no extra cost to you; and that’s a big difference for a small charity!

As long as you are a UK taxpayer, VRI can reclaim from the Inland Revenue the basic rate tax paid on your donation making your gift worth 28% more. All you need to do is complete he Gift Aid section on the form.

The great thing is that you only need to sign the form once and every donation you make to us will be worth more. What’s more, we can also claim Gift Aid on any donation you made to us since 6 April 2000.
