What has happened to IVCS - Indian Volunteers for Community Service?

voluntary work at the primary school

Our charity has recently changed its name from IVCS - Indian Volunteer for Community Service to VRI - Volunteers for Rural India.

Our mission remains the same; we are a small UK registered charity which runs a volunteer placement scheme in rural India and raises funds for schools, health services and practical training for villagers in India below the poverty line.

We changed our name to emphasise our focus on rural India (see "why rural India?"), and to reflect the fact that our volunteer scheme is open to people of all ethnic origins, not just those of Indian ethnic origin.
