Guidelines for Volunteers
You will be sent all the necessary literature to prepare you for your stay. This includes case studies which will give you a good idea of the cultural blunders people sometimes make and potential misunderstandings that can arise, and how to avoid them. You will also receive a video where you can see what the project is like and hear what volunteers and the project founder have to say.
Orientation
Alternatively, if we get a group of four or more applicants we will hold a half-day orientation session at our office in London.
This session is often run by former Volunteers and is a good opportunity to meet them as well as other potential volunteers. The
day is structured with a mixture of case studies, discussion time and a video to give you some idea what to expect when you arrive. The objective
of the day is to clear up all your anxieties about visiting rural India.
If you have any questions, you can email, phone or visit VRI.
